Electron-electron interaction and tunnel density of states at the Fermi level in high-density two- dimensional electron system

The zero bias anomaly (ZBA) of the tunnel conductivity are investigated in the Al/δ−GaAs tunnel structure with 2D electron concentration in δ-layer to be equal to 3.6∗10 cm−2. We find that the dip (ZBA) in the tunnel density of states near the Fermi level EF reveals logarithmic dependence on the energy ε in the range kT < ε< h̄/τ . Here ε is the energy relative to EF and τ is the elastic relaxat...

Particle Correlations at High Partonic Density

We discuss manifestations of the particle correlations at high partonic density in the heavy-ion collisions at RHIC. In particular, we argue that the elliptic flow variable v2 is dominated by particle correlations at high pT . Particle correlations at high partonic density (in Color Glass Condensate) are significantly different from those of the parton model. To illustrate this consider gluon p...

Density correlations in ultracold atomic Fermi gases

We investigate density fluctuations in a coherent ensemble of interacting fermionic atoms. Adapting the concept of full counting statistics, well known from quantum optics and mesoscopic electron transport, we study second-order as well as higher-order correlators of density fluctuations. Using the mean-field BCS state to describe the whole interval between the BCS limit and the Bose-Einstein c...

Two-dimensional Bose gas at low density

We propose a new method to describe the interacting bose gas at zero temperature. For three-dimensional system the correction to the groundstate energy in density is reproduced. For two-dimensional dilute bose gas the groundstate energy in the leading order in the parameter | ln α2ρ|−1 where α is a scattering length is obtained.

Confined two-dimensional fermions at finite density.

We introduce the chemical potential in a system of two-dimensional massless fermions, confined to a finite region, by imposing twisted boundary conditions in the Euclidean time direction. We explore in this simple model the application of functional techniques which could be used in more complicated situations.
